Our Progress : Term 4 Week 1 to Week 3

English

We have completed the Big Book Lazy Duck.

Vocabulary:
days of the week, beetles, bugs, hoes, farmers, farmyard, goats, sheep, hens, cows, weeds, thistles, lucky, busy

Grammar:
-  conjunction : and
- past tense verbs : waddles, prowled, scratched, scraped
- contractions : There's , He's , It's
- preposition : around, in , over, behind, beside, in front of , on
- structure : On _______(day of the week), the _____(noun) ______(past tense verb) ______.

Phonic :
 - scr and tch

Jolly Phonics :
We have completed up to Group 6 sounds.
Will post the lyrics in a separate post.

Writing :
We have done our class writing : Taking Care of a Horse and our group writing : My Pet.
Individual writing will be done next week.

Mathematics

We have completed Multiplication, Division and Time.

Multiplication :
The pupils have learnt to identify the number of groups and the number of items  in each group.
They know that multiplication is also repeated addition. This helps them to find the total.
It will be good if they start memorising times tables.

Division :
The pupils have learnt 2 ways of division.
1st : dividing by number of groups
2nd : dividing by number of items in each group

Time :
The pupils have learnt to identify the hour hand and minute hand.
They are able to tell the time using the terms  o'clock and half past.
